high and dangerous 17k
sports au where erik plays soccer for bayern and falls in love with charles in the homophobic environment of international soccer. very subtle and wonderful.

the eldest of the gods 32k
one of my all time hands down favorite things ever ever. the reason i memorized the "what a piece of work is man" speech from hamlet. erik and charles are at boarding school in england. erik is an angry jewish immigrant looking for revenge, but falling in love with charles kind of fucks that up. i know theyre young and we dont like HS aus but it's like the 1920s and theyre smart and it's beautiful and not obnoxious like an american one would be and i do not care.

beloved of ravens 19k with a sequel that is also like 30k idk
a title that is a reference to catullus! this is not a cheesy story at all, which i have to preface this all by saying. erik is a viking (not really) who captures charles and makes him his. kind of dubious consent initially but as the relationship unfolds he more they both realize theyre each others equal (and erik would just say he's the one who's charles' slave)

the masked man who has everything 8k
erik is batman and charles gets kidnapped roughly once a week because of it

time to grow 21k
canon fix it that was good when i read it about five years ago AND I BELIEVE STILL IS BUT DONT HOLD ME TO IT

anarchy in the uk 162k
charles is the prince of wales. erik is a photojournalist who figures out, after an interesting meeting, that charles is gay. the relationship progresses. doesnt end with them getting together, but deals very realistically with the shift youd have to make to be with a prince who happens to have to hide he's gay. happy ending.

made to be broken 18k
charles swears off straight men until he sees erik again at a new year's eve party

neither rhyme nor reason 9k
I LOVE THIS OOOOOOOOOOONE. erik is a vulcan, one of the last of his race, and charles is a telepathic race i cant remember. theyre in love but erik doesnt think that's allowed. fuck me UP

everyday love in stockholm 132k
i read all 132k of this on a fuckin kinkmeme. erik is the leader of an extremist mutant group who despises humans but then has to keep raven's very human brother with him and things lead to him being a very major fucking hypocrite. dark and sad at times, it deals with the situation realistically but doesnt villainize anyone. happy ending. good shit.

Hier steh ich an den Marken meiner Tage 18k
I FUCKING LOVE THIS ONE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO erik is undercover as an ss officer. charles is his contact with the allies.

lay down beside me (so still and so soft) 53k
this is my "this is the new canon" fic. incredibly well written and well characterized, it replaces the events in the movie for me to make way for the relationship that should have and could have been. eternal favorite.

sacrament which is part of the father charles series which is 72k
charles is a priest and erik is in love. why would god do this to them???????? happy ending in the same way as i have been all things unholy series plus dealing with the consequences/their lives for another 50k. there is a kid eventually but it doesnt ruin shit and is barely there. i love erik in this. he's so sad and yearning.

still life with cookies 17k
Or: Charles is a nude model, and Erik is an art student.

as they kept falling the way leaves do
mummblemutter is...........sooooooooooooo good. so fucked up but so good
this is a last unicorn au that made me cry the first time i read it
